The long awaited Indy Grand Prix of Alabama hosts its first Indy Car Race April 9-11 at Barbers' and is promised to be filled with excitement and the driving of Danica Patrick. This is the third venue on the Indy Racing League schedule for the 2010 season. Don't forget to take time to visit the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum which is home to 144,000 square feet and four stories, housing the world's largest collection of Vintage and modern day motorcycles as well as Lotus race cars. The Motorsports park is accessible from the Leeds exit #140 on I-20 and only 3 miles from the east junction of I-20 and I-459. Also opening in the fall of 2010, Grand River is the area's newest outlet mall and is located across from Bass Pro Shop in Leeds, Alabama (one of the largest in the country).
Barber Motorsports Park is also home to Porsche Driving experience, the Porshce 250, AMA Superbike and several vintage car drive-in events.

The hopes of the crispness in the air causes summer dreams to include actually doing something instead of being concerned with escaping motion. Here, at River Rest Bed and Breakfast, we love Alabama summers, hate to see them go, but rest in certainty that the coming season has more in store for us and our guests than just cool temps.

Privacy is one of the key amenities at the bed and breakfast. All five guest rooms have private baths and none share so much as a wall with another. Although the B&B offers guests a number of activities,

River Rest Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located near Birmingham, Alabama (less than an hour) and less than two hours from Montgomery and Huntsville. If you are visiting the lakeside retreat from Atlanta, you can leave work at 5 p.m. and be watching the sun go down over the lake by 6:30 p.m. (Remember, you gain an hour traveling from the Eastern Time Zone to the Central Time Zone, so you have 60 more minutes to unwind and enjoy the Alabama countryside).
Nearby, you can explore Cheaha Mountain State Park (the highest peak in Alabama), Noccalula Falls - Gadsden, Alabama or historic DeSoto Caverns in Childersburg, Alabama. Those with a need for speed can visit Barber Motorsports Park and Museum in Leeds, Alabama or check out the internationally acclaimed Talladega Superspeedway, the Dale Jarrett Racing School, and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Lincoln, Alabama.
